TurfScore privacy policy
Last updated 6 August 2026
TurfScore is a cricket scoring app for casual turf and park games. It is run by Arulmurugan Prakasam as an independent developer. This page says what the app collects, why it needs it, and how to have it removed. It is written to be read rather than to cover anybody legally.
What the app collects
- Your email address and the name you sign up with. The email identifies your account and is how you sign in. The name is shown to other people in the app — it is what appears when you are the one keeping score.
- Your password. Handled by Supabase Auth, which stores a hash of it rather than the password itself. Nobody, including the developer, can read it.
- Match information you enter. Team names, the names of the players in a game, and every ball as it is scored, including where each shot went.
- A device identifier the app generates. A random value stored on your phone so a match knows which device is currently keeping score. It is not tied to any hardware identifier and is not shared with anyone.
- A recording of how you use the app. The screens you visit, what you tap, and errors the app runs into, recorded by LogRocket so that problems can be watched back and fixed rather than guessed at. If you have an account, the recording is labelled with your account, name and email so a report can be matched to it. Your password is never recorded — not as you type it, not on the screen that shows it to you after you sign up, and not in the request that signs you in. Neither are the keys that keep you signed in. Anything you type into the app is obscured in the recording before it is sent.
What it does not collect
- No advertising identifiers, and no advertising of any kind.
- No advertising or marketing analytics, and nothing that follows you to other apps or websites. The recording described above stays within this app and is only ever used to fix it.
- No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.
- No payment details. The app is free and sells nothing.
Why it collects it
Only to run the app and to fix it: to sign you in, to show a match live on several phones at once, to keep the scorecards and player records the app is for, and to see where the app goes wrong for the people using it. The information is not sold or rented, and it is not used to build a profile of you or to target you with anything. It reaches two companies only because the app is built on them — Supabase, which holds the accounts and the matches, and LogRocket, which holds the usage recordings.
Who can see your matches
Matches are shared, not private. The app is built so that everyone at a game can follow the same scorecard, so a match you score — including the player names in it — is visible to other people using TurfScore. Please do not put anything in a player name or team name that you would not want other users to read.
Where the information is kept
Accounts and match data are stored with Supabase, which hosts the database and handles sign-in. The app itself is served by Cloudflare Pages. Both are used as infrastructure providers, not as partners the data is shared with for their own purposes. Everything between your phone and the server travels over HTTPS.
How long it is kept
Matches are kept so that the stats and records stay meaningful over a season, and account details are kept while the account exists. There is no automatic deletion schedule; ask and it will be removed.
Deleting your account or your data
Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with and say what you want removed — your account, particular matches, or everything. It will be done within 30 days, and usually much sooner. There is no password reset in the app yet, so if you cannot get in, email the same address.
Children
TurfScore is not directed at children under 13 and is not designed for them. If a child's information has ended up in the app, email the address above and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
If what the app collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. Anything significant will be said in the app rather than left here to be discovered.
